Schwalb Home Renovations: Get Bold, Get New
Getting a full home remodel is a very different experience compared to getting one or two rooms done up. It can be stressful, but it can also be just what you need to finally get the house of your dreams.
At Schwalb, we pride ourselves on making sure every single client gets exactly what they want out of their home. Our expert builders have over 15 years of experience in Colorado, and they’re bringing that expertise to Florida. You’ve worked hard to put your roof over your head, so we want to make sure you get the most out of it.
We’re going to communicate with you throughout the entire process to make sure everything is going exactly how you want it to. Our mission is to help your home reach its full potential, and everything we do throughout your renovation reflects that.
Before the work starts, our expert advisors are going to sit down with you and discuss what it is you’re looking for. We don’t just discuss layout and design, though. Our advisors can also help you work around your budget.
No matter what figure you’re working with, we’re going to be able to help you decide how much to allocate where, and how to save money on the project as a whole.
Even after that, a full renovation is a massive undertaking with countless decisions to be made. To make the whole process a little easier for you, we’ve got a few different aspects of the house to consider. Remember, our advisor is going to go through all of this with you. If you can’t wait, though, feel free to contact us through our website.
Before you decide anything else, do some research on homes. There are plenty of home and design magazines out there, so pick up a few the next time you’re down at the store.
You don’t need to do anything intensive; have a look over some of the photos to give yourself some inspiration and a concrete example of what you’re going for.
Take Size into Consideration
As much as we wish we could copy/paste what’s in your head into reality, the constraints of space prevents us from doing that. Consider the square footage of each room and whether or not your design is going to work for the area. Our advisor can give you more guidance on this aspect of your preparation if you need it.
With your inspiration in place and a realistic expectation of what can be done with the home, it’s time to start thinking about the fun stuff.
There are plenty of style choices out there, but hopefully, you’ve managed to narrow it down to one or two that you really like.
Try to go with your heart and what you actually like rather than what’s trendy. Too often do people keep up with the latest in-home design only to need an update three years later.
Pick something that’s going to withstand the test of time and you don’t need to worry about ever remodeling again.
There’s no limit on what you can ultimately achieve with a home renovation. You can change the layout, add rooms, and add all sorts of other expansions. With that, what you have access to is directly proportional to your budget.
Home renovation is an expensive venture. The more demolition, building, designing, and luxury options you have in your plan, the more expensive it becomes.
Set yourself a realistic number to work with and stick to it. You can always put a part of the project off if you need to.
We’d actually recommend that you figure out your budget and then put aside another 20% percent of that number. This extra money is considered an emergency fund. In the event that some unforeseen disaster strikes your renovation, the means to cover it should already be there.
If you do decide you want to renovate your home, then try to bring us on board sooner rather than later.
Not only can we help you out with your planning, but we can take care of any and all micromanagement for you.
We monitor the site, the workers, and are responsible for hiring subcontractors to do any plumbing or electricity work that we can’t do ourselves.
Our goal is to help you achieve your dream house. With our 15 years of expertise, the sooner we’re on the project, the sooner we can make that happen.
After your plan has been set in stone, we can begin the full home renovation process. There are a few different stages that need to be followed in home renovations. While you don’t need to know them, it can be useful information so that you can track the project’s progress for yourself.
Demolition varies wildly from home to home. It can be as simple as pulling up some carpet or as significant as knocking down an entire wall.
Once any necessary demo work has been completed, we can start rebuilding in line with your new design goals.
With the hard building out of the way, we need to set up the mechanical nitty gritty bits. Electrical wiring and plumbing get done during this stage.
Walls and Flooring
With the mechanicals in place, we can finish up with the walls. The flooring comes after we do the walls to avoid getting any paint on the brand-new tiles/hardwood.
Cabinets and Appliances
With the construction work done, we can start putting up the various cabinets and home appliances that you need.
All that’s left to do is add a shiny coat of polish to the project. Paint is going to be touched up, and any personal touches you’re looking for are going to be installed.
